CHAE XV vs LAUNCESTON XV
Chae XV vs Launceston XV is a charity fundraising Rugby match to be held at Launceston RC in Cornwall on Decmber 26th 2022, in support of Brain Tumour Research.
Chae's Story
I was diagnosed with a rare Pilocytic Astrocytom - more commonly known as a brain tumour - at age 20 in my upper brain stem; this was found to be incurable a little while later. My biggest love was my sport - more specifically my rugby! Coming up through the age groups at Launceston RC whilst attending Budehaven Community School, and getting the chance to play age-group rugby with both Cornwall and Exeter Chiefs Academy, meant I got to be Launceston first XV's tighthead prop when I turned 18. Due to other surgery I had before my brain tumour diagnosis, the 2018/19 season was my last.
Rugby was a massive part of my life and still is. Even though I can’t do the one thing I love, I can do all the other bits n bobs around it. This leaves me involved with the team and it’s match-day fixtures! Although what I can’t do is play, I can still help out here and there.

I’ll be supporting Brain Tumour Research in the hope of helping people like me find a cure and have a 2nd hit at life.
The Match
This game will be a select team from my friends and family who I feel best represent me - known as Chae's XV - consisting of the people that have stuck by me in life, whether on or off the field. I will be looking to kit out my team, meaning all donations via my GoFundMe Page (more details below!) will be a massive help, and go towards such things as kit sponsors etc! But please don’t chuck money away if it’s needed! Christmas isn’t the easiest time of year. You can also come down and support at Launceston RC on December 26th, where a separate raffle will also be held with lots of various prizes listed below. KO is 11am, at Launceston Rugby Club, Polson Bridge, Cornwall PL15 9QT.

All donations will go to Brain Tumour Research - registered charity 1153487: "Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Help us in our vision to find a cure."
