Eliza Flores - Love To Love You Baby

This is my audition for filming a raunchy dance sequence in the likes of a Quentin Tarantino movie. Eliza had reached out after seeing some of my other music work, and asked if I'd be interested in filming some burlesque. I didn't really know what to expect, but then she sent me a practise video shot on her iPhone, and I slowly started to gather what I was in for. I roped my mate in to help film, and we duly turned up at an Essex social club and continued to set up the lights, stage and lenses.

I think what I'm most proud of with the performance is what it doesn't show - at the end, do you really have any idea if she's taken her clothes off or not? Even as I type this, it seems a very provocative thing to say in this day and age of feminism, equality, the exploitation of women as sexual objects and the likes of burlesque routines and strip shows that can demean rather than empower a performer. All I can say here is, Eliza was completely in charge and held the stage. I actually don't think I completely justify the performance with what I captured, but hope that the editing is enough to suggest that here was a performer having fun, drinking in the audience attention and using it to empower herself of her own free will.
