Sh!tfaced Shakespeare

I don't know where to begin with this. My twenty-year-old self - who took himself very, very seriously - would have been horrified at the thought of bastardising one of Shakespeare's plays by mounting a production with a drunk actor in it, but it's bloody hilarious. It kind of challenges my fear of the unknown by having to deal with the unpredictable and improvise around what's happening onstage - and I was only filming it. The poor sober actors onstage are the ones who have to deal with an inebriated cast member that has the whole audience on their side while they get up to whatever antics they fancy.

I think this promo is probably effective because it essentially communicates what Sh!tfaced Shakespeare is better than I could sum up with words, and why it's so funny and entertaining. And dare I say it, probably more profound sometimes than your average run-of-the-mill production that would take itself very, very seriously. My friend is in this show (Beth - she's the hilarious one who's told not to touch the set, and tries to incorporate Disney songs into the performance) - and she and the team were apparently worried that the concept of the show wouldn't come across well in video. All I can say is, I had a lot of fun filming it, going through the footage, and putting this together with the team, which hopefully is what comes across to the viewer.
